Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. is a non-profit association funded by the agriculture specialty tag with the mission of expanding youth awareness and understanding of Florida agriculture and natural resources by integrating agricultural concepts into core educational disciplines and FAITC supporting programs.
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom is able to provide its curriculum and programs through the funding of the Agriculture License Plate. Florida
Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc.’s 2009 State Teacher and
Volunteer Workshop “Catching the Wave of Florida
Agriculture Education” is scheduled for June 18-20 at the
Daytona Beach Resort & Spa. Professional development
points, interactive lessons and activities and tours of a
local sturgeon farm and fernery will be available at the

Florida Teachers Invited to Apply for Grant Money
General education teachers in Florida who teach pre-kindergarten through
12th grade are encouraged to apply for Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s
2009-10 Teacher Grant program. Eligible projects must teach students
about the importance of Florida agriculture. Please see the attached
guidelines and application for more information. The deadline for applications
is Oct, 1, 2009.

Online Teacher Workshop Available
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom offers a new online workshop to teachers and others who would like to educate Florida teachers and students about the importance of the Florida agriculture industry. It’s packed with great lessons from its core curricula “Project Food, Land and People” and “Keeping Florida Green” and activities from its other materials that can be used in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms and other settings involving people who wish to learn more about Florida agriculture.
